Rob: Hey everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com and today, we'll be taking a look at the Curt Class 2 Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2017 Jeep Patriot. Now here's what our hitch is going to look like. I think it looks pretty good, it has almost a factory type look to it. And that's because the cross tube is going to be completely hidden behind the bumper and the only thing we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out. Now, again, it is a class two, which means it's going to give us that inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening, and it's going to be great for some light duty towing. more

Today, on our 2017 Jeep Patriot, we're going to be taking a look at it and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Class III two-inch trailer hitch receiver.Now right off the bat, my favorite thing about this hitch compared to some of the others is that we're actually going to get more ground clearance, so it's get to sit higher off the ground. That's going to be both beneficial for not only hitch mounted accessories, but for towing as well. Even though many other hitches have the same hidden design, where the only thing you're going to see is a receiver too, this does have a nice gloss black finish and blends in pretty well with the back of our Jeep.Many times, hitches that have this hidden appearance have to compromise the ease of use. That's not the case with this one. more

It has a carbide matte black finish, which is powder coat, so it's going to stand up to the elements really well and look good for a long time, and it also blends in nicely with this flat black plastic here on the bottom of our jeep.Since this is a class three hitch it's going to have that two inch by two inch opening, and it's going to work with just about any hitch mounted accessory out there. Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how install the etrailer Class 3 custom fit trailer hitch receiver, part number #E98836.So here's what our hitch is gonna look like once we have it installed. The cross tube is gonna be completely hidden behind the bumper and all we're gonna see is the receiver tube sticking out. Now also the fact that it has that matte black carbide finish on it means that it's gonna blend in really nicely with the underbody right here. It's a Class 3 hitch, which means it's gonna give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening and have a really big variety of different accessories that we can mount on.Now the way we're gonna mount any of our accessories is through the hitch pin hole here on the side. It is gonna accept a standard 5/8 pin and clip. While these are not included in the clip you can pick them up here on etrailer.com.Now as far as the safety chain connection points go, we're gonna have a loop style, kind of a rolled steel stock weld to the bottom of the receiver tube. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Class 3 custom fit trailer hitch receiver, part number 75712.So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed on our Patriot. The nice thing about it is it's going to be pretty well hidden. All we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out the bottom. The cross tube is going to be concealed by the rear fascia here, so we're not going to have to worry about it sticking down really far or distracting from the looks of our Jeep.It's going to offer us a 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening so it's going to have a lot of different accessories available, all the way from our ball mount, our bike rack, our cargo carrier, and many other options. Now the way we're going to mount all those accessories is going to be through the forward hole here in the receiver. Now it's going to accept a standard five eight's pin and clip, and you'll notice that it's going to have a secondary hold towards the back. more

Speaker 1: Today on this 2016 Jeep Patriot we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Curt class two trailer hitch receiver, part number C12057.Here's what our hitch looks like installed. Now what's great about this hitch is that it's completely hidden behind our rear fascia. The only part you'll see sticking out is the class two inch and a quarter receiver itself. Now because this is a class two hitch even though it is an inch and quarter hitch we do have the ability to use cargo carriers with it. A class one inch and a quarter hitch you wouldn't have the ability to use many cargo carries with it because they aren't rated for the weight.On the side of our hitch you'll find our industry standard half inch diameter hitch pin hole to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories. Now that our hitch is installed, you can see that our cross tube is tucked in back behind our bumper. There's no cutting or drilling required. 2" x 2" Class 3 receiver. It's gonna have a 5/8" hitch pin hole and then this smaller hole here is gonna be for a J-pin stabilization device only. As you can see, it has loop style safety chain rings so you have quite a bit of room to hook your safety chains on, on the front or the back. more

As you can see, the main body of the hitch is completely hidden by our rear fascia here. You'll want to note 00:00:17 we have sticking down is our class III 2 by 2 inch receiver here and our safety chain loops on the bottom of your receiver. These safety chain loops are easy to use, fairly large opening, and we won't have any issue being able to clip a safety chain in around any angle on it if we need to. Some safety chain loops, you're limited and you're only able 00:00:39 to clip on the front. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Jeep Patriot - Draw-Tite 36423- Video

Today we're going to be reviewing and installing the Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver class 2 hitch, part number 36423 for a 2014 Jeep Patriot. Now, this is what the hitch looks like when it's installed on our vehicle, so you can see you've got a reinforcement collar here around the 1 1/4 by 1 1/4-inch receiver tube. You got safety chain loops right here. Cross tube is nice and tucked up behind the fascia here, so all you're seeing is this receiver tube and the safety chain loops. It's a bolt-on, so there's no drilling or welding required. If you'd like to remount the tow hook that may have been originally equipped on the vehicle, you do have drill the tow hook, but not for the hitch. It's got a nice black powder coat that has a e-base layer underneath it to help give superior rust and corrosion protection. Right here it's got the 1/2-inch hitch pin hole, and this hitch features a 300-pound tongue weight rating and a 3,500-pound gross trailer weight rating, and you'll want to be sure to check your vehicle's owner's manual to see what your vehicle is rated for, as far as towing. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear-most part of the bumper is 6 inches. more

On this 2012 Jeep Patriot, we're going to show you part number 36423, the Draw-Tite Class II 1-1/4" receiver hitch. This is what the hitch looks like when it's installed on our vehicle. This is our 1-1/4" opening right here. It has a ring around it to help reinforce the end of it. Also, it uses a 1/2" hitch pin right here and it uses a conventional loop right here for your safety chain. This will give you plenty of room for all the types of different safety chains that are out there. After this, the receiver goes back behind the bumper. First step in our installation is going to be to take a some form of support. We like to use a cam buckle strap here. We're going to bring this right up underneath the exhaust pipe. I've gone from the control arm here to right up underneath the exhaust pipe and tighten that down. We'll then take our exhaust hanger tool. more
